Clayton High School
The ongoing pursuit of excellence by the School District of Clayton led to voter approval of a 1997 bond issue, supporting major renovation at the high school, as well as construction of a joint-use recreational facility on the high school campus. Students use the shared gymnasiums and swimming pool during the school day and for competitions, and the community has access to an array of new facilities for recreation, fitness, and health.
Renovations at Clayton High School incorporate new spaces for science, mathematics, music, and an experimental theater. A new, two-story commons, seating 400, serves as a pre-function space for the school auditorium and becomes a community asset, as well.
Seismic upgrades are a major portion of the renovation, along with new HVAC systems, carpeting materials, finishes and graphics.
