Barnes-Jewish Center for Outpatient Health
St. Louis, Missouri
The Barnes-Jewish Center for Outpatient Health provides BJC with multi-specialty clinics, physicians’ offices and administrative space in a new 12-story tower. The program demands a more complex model than a traditional medical office building – combining a mix of private and public patients in an academic setting. The clinic provides convenience and efficiency for private practice physicians and practical clinical experience for resident physicians.
Christner’s design solves a number of site issues, including: convenience for patients arriving by private and public transportation, relationship to the street level circulation and pedestrian scale; and compatibility with the adjacent campus architecture.
