Christner Recognized With Cost Effectiveness Award
Christner recently received the St. Louis Council of Construction Consumers Best Practices Award for the Barnes-Jewish Center for Outpatient Health. This award recognizes achievement in design and construction cost effectiveness. The Christner design team analyzed a number of space scenarios with the owner and concluded that the 12-story building would maximize the potential of this urban site and appropriately express the BJC “brand.” Careful building siting allowed us to include a patient drop-off area, a receiving area, and connections to the adjacent parking garage, all within the constraints of the site.
The BJC Center for Outpatient Health, a 322,000 sf medical office building that combines a mix of private and public clinics, physician offices and administrative offices, opened its doors to the public in March of 2012. It is located at the corner of Euclid Avenue and Forest Park Parkway on the northern edge of the Washington University Medical Campus.
