Christner Recognized with AIA Honor Award
This year, the American Institute of Architects (AIA) St. Louis Chapter celebrated excellence in the designed environment with its Design Awards celebration held on September 17 at the offices of HOK. Through a juried process, projects in the categories of craftsmanship, drawings, unbuilt, interiors and architecture were recognized for outstanding qualities in design. Christner was proud to receive an Honor Award in Architecture for its work on the renovation of Edward Jones, 201 Progress Parkway. In this project, the Christner design team was charged with transforming Edward Jones first office building into a contemporary and high performing workplace while maintaining a vestige of the building’s original identity. Through strong collaboration with the client, Christner was able to convert this culturally significant building into a vibrant new threshold to the campus.
Another Christner project, the Pulitzer Arts Foundation lower level renovation was also recognized at the Awards Ceremony. Local tradesmen from Niehaus, Zickel Flooring and WoodByrne Cabinetry accepted two Craftsmanship Awards for their skilled workmanship on the plaster and flooring in the lower level galleries. Both demonstrate local craftsmanship at its best.
