The Kornfeld family engaged Christner to renovate their 1920 workshop/residence to create an office inspired by a Japanese Teahouse. Architectural detailing and superior craftsmanship transformed the interior into a relaxing retreat for work and meditation.
Local zoning requirements were a strong design driver. The original concrete footings and walls were untouched so as not to expand the building footprint. We worked closely with a local general contractor and a Seattle-based Japanese woodworker to customize every detail.
