Based on a long-standing relationship with this Fortune 500 company, Christner served as Express Scripts' representative throughout developer and site selection for its corporate headquarters. The selected site at NorthPark at the University of Missouri-St. Louis allows shared expertise and recruitment opportunities. Sustainability played a key role in the design of the new headquarters. All employees have access to daylight and views, enclosed spaces use motion-sensor lighting, and sustainable materials such as linoleum, bamboo and cork are used throughout the building.

Christner's design concept for the atrium space used raised ceiling heights to take maximum advantage of daylight into the building's interior.
The company's stature is reinforced through bold forms and the campus building materials: red brick accented in limestone; aluminum and glass curtainwall, and aluminum porticos supported by painted steel columns.
Comfortable seating areas provide teaming areas for spontaneous conversations and small group meetings.
Interior finishes are simple and colorful. To reinforce the Express Scripts' commitment to minimizing corporate hierarchy, the finish levels are the same throughout the building.
Express Scripts' boardroom is part of a highly interactive conference center. Flexible office furnishings are utilized throughout the center to allow staffers to quickly set up temporary workspace for special projects.
The lively cafeteria includes outdoor seating and views of the site lake with naturalistic landscaping.
