Working within an unusually constrained site in downtown Clayton, Christner was engaged to provide design concepts for a new office building for Crest Management. With views to only the south and southwest, it was a challenge to create a building of maximum impact from both a development and aesthetic viewpoint. Christner addressed this issue and the context of the site through the use of contemporary materials to create a landmark building.
We created several design concepts for this site, including one at over 20 stories tall with over 200,000 sf of office space. An alternative design, at six stories high and 100,000 sf of tenant space, was explored to respond to market conditions. Each building concept would accommodate both small and multi-floor tenants. An existing parking garage at the rear of the building will handle much of the building's parking needs. The garage is also incorporated into the design of the 20-story concept, as the building is cantilevered over the garage through the use of transfer trusses to provide additional tenant space. Sustainable strategies are an important part of both concepts and will be implemented throughout the building.
Size: up to 200,000 sf

Brick and stone reflect the surrounding design aesthetic but are combined with a sleek glass treatment that presents a highly visible facade in Clayton. Retail space on the first floor will further enliven the urban corner.
This 20-story design concept would be an icon in downtown Clayton. Both building concepts arrange leased office space to take advantage of views of Shaw Park and allow for optimum daylighting.
